Staff Report From Valdosta CEO
Friday, May 31st, 2019
On May 30th the City of Hahira and community partners recognized the teachers and staff of Hahira Elementary School and Hahira Middle School with an appreciation luncheon. This annual event was initiated by Myron Crowe during his term as Mayor of Hahira (2001-2005) to express the community’s gratitude for the important role that teachers and staff play in lives of our youth. At this year’s event, there were over 125 attendees that enjoyed a catered lunch, played corn hole, and thanks to our generous partners, we were able to give away donated items to 89 deserving teachers and staff.
“We are blessed to have outstanding teachers and staff that become like family and to live in a community that truly embraces our schools,” said Mayor Bruce Cain. As part of the event, Mayor Cain recognized those retiring, which included Joseph and Celesta Williams, Julie McCall, and Iris Mathis from Hahira Elementary School.
