Lindsey Rogers, Senior Marketing Specialist, at Hospice of South Georgia and Langdale Hospice House, was honored as the Hospital Hero at the monthly South Georgia Medical Center Hospital Authority Board meeting. Rogers was honored for her recent recognition from the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce as the 2019 Young Professional fo the Year.

Rogers has been with SGMC since 2009, but joined Hospice in 2012, where she has significantly increased the visibility of Hospice in the community. According to Hospice Executive Director Susan Bowen, “Lindsey is passionate about the services provided by Hospice and conveys this with every encounter.”

One initiative that Rogers launched last year that has received great praise is the “We Honor Veterans” program. This program, which partners with the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, offers every veteran Hospice serves the opportunity to be recognized in a personal ceremony that involves local military representatives from Moody Air Force Base and the American Legion.

Hundreds of these very meaningful ceremonies have taken place in private homes, care facilities and in the Langdale Hospice House.  Many of these veterans share that this is the first recognition they have received in appreciation of their service to our country.

Rogers accepted this Hospital Hero recognition, thanking the authority and her supervisor for providing her the opportunity to serve in a capacity that is so rewarding.
