Valdosta Fire Chief Appointed as Georgia State Director to Represent Georgia with the Southeastern Association of Fire Chiefs

Valdosta’s Fire Chief Freddie Broome was recently appointed to the position of Georgia State Director to represent Georgia with the Southeastern Association of Fire Chiefs.
The Southeastern Association of Fire Chiefs is a division of the International Association of Fire Chiefs. The mission is to provide leadership for current and future career, volunteer, fire-rescue and EMS chiefs, chief fire officers, company officers and managers of emergency service organizations throughout the international community through vision, information, education, services and representation to enhance their professionalism and capabilities.
The Southeastern Division consists of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, U.S. Virgin Islands, Virginia and West Virginia.
“It is an honor to be appointed to represent the Georgia Fire Chiefs Association and the State of Georgia. I’m excited to work with the other State Directors and the Executive Committee to fulfill the mission of the Southeastern Association of Fire Chiefs,” said Fire Chief Freddie Broome.
As Georgia State Director, Broome will act as an ambassador for the state and will represent the interests of Georgia Fire Chief Associations. Some of the responsibility includes keeping the State of Georgia informed on the activities of the Association and reporting state issues back to the Association. He will also serve on the Education and Strategic Planning and Initiative Committees.
