This Thursday at 6:00 p.m., Lowndes County Emergency Management will be hosting an open house from 6:00-8:00 p.m., 250 Douglas Street, Valdosta.  The center will be open for tours at 6:00 p.m., with a program beginning at 6:30 p.m.  Responders will be on hand to answer questions from citizens and Meteorologist Kerri Copello is going to share some information on the projected forecast for the 2018 hurricane season.  As most of you are aware, hurricane season began June 1 and runs through November 30.  In addition to the preparedness information that will be presented, the event is being held to give citizens a behind the scenes look into what emergency management is doing during an emergency and what they can do to help.
