March 20 | First Day of Spring
Spring officially begins in the Northern Hemisphere on March 20. Although we have experienced cold weather in the past several weeks, South Georgia is finally warming up for residents to enjoy the beautiful weather.
March 20 | Valdosta-Lowndes County Development Authority Meets
The Valdosta-Lowndes County Development Authority will meet on Tuesday, March 20, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at 103 Roosevelt Drive. See city calendar.
March 21 | Hospital Authority Meets
The Hospital Authority of Valdosta and Lowndes County will meet on Wednesday, March 21, from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., at the SGMC Executive Board Room, located at 2501 N. Patterson Street. See city calendar.
March 21 | Parks and Recreation Authority Meets
The Valdosta-Lowndes County Parks and Recreation Authority will meet on Wednesday, March 21, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., at 1901 N. Forrest Street. See city calendar.
March 21 | Resume Boot camp
Attend a fun boot camp style resume writing workshop on Wednesday, March 21, at 11 a.m., at the City Hall Annex, Multi-Purpose Room, located at 300 N. Lee Street. March 22 | World Water Day
World Water Day has been observed on March 22 since 1993. The purpose of this special day is to bring awareness to water related topics such as water supply, shortages, and sanitation problems. Visit Trees Tame Stormwater and World Water Day to consider how you use your water and find ways on how to conserve it.
March 22 | VYC Meets
The Valdosta Youth Council will hold its regularly-scheduled meeting on Thursday, March 22, at 4 p.m. The meeting will take place in the Council Chambers of Valdosta City Hall, located at 216 E. March 23 | "If I Were Mayor, I Would..." Essay Contest Deadline
March 23 is the deadline for local 6th-grade students to submit their “If I Were Mayor, I Would...” essay. The contest, sponsored by the Valdosta Youth Council, gives 6th-grade students—from public, private or homeschools—a chance to creatively use grade-specific language arts skills and civics knowledge to express, in 350 words or less, how they would make a difference if they were Mayor.
