The Hospital Authority of Valdosta and Lowndes County will meet on Wednesday, Dec. 20, at 8 a.m., in the South Georgia Medical Center, Executive Board Room, located at 2501 N. Patterson Street. See city calendar.
Dec. 20 | Kick Start Your Career in 2018!
The City of Valdosta Neighborhood Development Division and Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers, Inc. will host "Resume Building 101" to kick your career into fast forward in 2018. The workshop will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Valdosta City Hall Annex, Engineering Conference Room, located at 300 N. Lee Street. The regularly-scheduled Valdosta City Council meeting on Dec. 21 has been canceled. Mark your calendar for the first City Council meeting of 2018, which will take place on Jan. 11, at 5:30 p.m., at the Valdosta City Hall.
Dec. 22 | City of Valdosta Closed Half Day
The City of Valdosta will be closed for a half day on Friday, Dec. 22, in observance of the Christmas holiday schedule.
Dec. 25 | City of Valdosta Closed
The City of Valdosta will be closed on Friday, Dec. 25, in observance of Christmas day.
Dec. 25 & Jan. 1 | Valdosta Holiday Sanitation Schedule
No sanitation services will be offered for the Christmas and New Year's holiday, which is Monday, Dec. 25 and Monday, Jan. 1—the only two holidays that sanitation workers take off for the entire year. The Sanitation Division will NOT collect residential garbage, recyclables, yard waste or bulk items on these dates. Residents who normally have their sanitation collected on Mondays should place their garbage, recyclables, yard waste, and bulk items at the curbside by 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 26 and Tuesday, Jan. 2 for both Monday and Tuesday pickups.
