Oct. 24 | Tourism Authority Meets
The Valdosta-Lowndes County Conference Center and Tourism Authority will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 24, from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., in the James H. Rainwater Conference Center, Executive Conference Room 1, located at 1 Meeting Place. See city calendar.

Oct. 25 | HPC Meets for Work Session
The Valdosta Historic Preservation Commission will meet for a work session on Wednesday, Oct. 25, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., in the City Hall Annex, Multi-Purpose Room, located at 300 N. Lee Street. See city calendar.

Oct. 28 | City-Wide Bulk Trash Amnesty Day
This year’s City-Wide Bulk Trash Amnesty Day will take place on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 8 a.m. to noon. The event will allow city residents, who show water bill and photo ID as proof of residency, one trip to dispose of unwanted household items and other bulky trash items at no cost. Individuals, businesses or organizations interested in making a positive impact in our community and environment should volunteer for the Make a Difference Day on Oct. 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, contact KLVB at 229-671-3698.

Oct. 28 | Plein Air Art Competition
Downtown Valdosta Farm Days is about to become a little more colorful with a new competition called Plein Air Art. Artists are invited to attend the competition at the Farm Days market on Oct. 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., located on Valley Street behind the historic courthouse. This event is free for all artists, but they must bring all paint supplies including an easel and work surface. Call 229-259-3577 for details on how you can win $100.

Get fresh, local produce and other locally-made products at the popular Downtown Valdosta Farm Days this Saturday, Oct. 28, from 9 a.m. to noon. The popular event takes place in the 100 block of E. Valley Street, located behind the historic courthouse in downtown Valdosta. See city calendar.

Oct. 28-29 | Moody Hosts Free Air Show
The community will have their eyes glued to the sky on Saturday, Oct. 28 and Sunday, Oct. 29 when Moody Air Force Base hosts the Thunder Over South Georgia Air and Space Expo. The event will showcase The United States Air Force Thunderbirds. Showtime begins at 9 a.m. and is free admission to all. For more information on performances and schedule of events, look here.
