Sept. 19 | Congrats, Development Authority!
The Valdosta-Lowndes County Development Authority will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 19, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., at 103 Roosevelt Drive. The city would like to congratulate the DA for being recognized as one of the top 25 digital economic development organizations in North America at the 2017 International Economic Development Council Annual Conference. The annual Digital 25 reflects those organizations that best use digital technology to differentiate their communities online and to better serve businesses. Sept. 19 | VFD Citizens Fire Academy Meets
The Valdosta Fire Department Citizens Fire Academy continues on Sept. 19 for citizens enrolled in the nine-week program. This week's session will focus on department and emergency communication. The Citizens Fire Academy is designed to give a behind-the-scenes look into one of the top ISO-rated fire departments in the state. While downtown on Saturday, Sept. 23, why not stop in to view the second annual Dumpster Art event? The transformation of ordinary dumpsters into public pieces of art will begin at 9 a.m, in the City Hall Annex parking lot on Valley Street.
