Molly Roan Ferrier has been selected as the new Executive Director of the Lowndes/Valdosta chapter of Habitat for Humanity after the sudden death of much loved and well respected Stuart Mullis. He left a stunned and saddened Habitat Community.  Stuart headed the Lowndes Valdosta Habitat affiliate for 14 years and his legacy will be continued with Ms. Ferrier.

Doug Swords, President of the Valdosta-Lowndes County Habitat Board said, “No one could ever match what Stuart Mullis did for Valdosta-Lowndes County Habitat, and the local community, but we know that Molly will grow right into his footsteps and continue to grow Habitat and lead it into the right direction.”

Molly has worked with Stuart at Habitat for more than five years.  She assisted Stuart first as the Volunteer Coordinator and most recently as the Development Director and Neighborhood Revitalization Coordinator.  She has extensive experience in helping others, having spent a tour of duty with the United States Peace Corps in Mongolia where she worked with programs for social workers and child welfare.  She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in French from the University of Vermont.  Her Master’s degree in Social Work came from the University of South Carolina, after which she worked for a year with difficult to place foster children. She holds a LMSW certification.

Molly is a native of Valdosta and is involved numerous community organizations including the Valdosta Rotary Club where she has served on the board, the VJSL where she is currently on the board as the Converse Dalton Ferrell House Chairperson, the VSU Music Scholarship Alliance, where she is currently serves as the president, the president of the Valdosta Civic Roundtable and the KLVB.  She is a member of the Leadership Lowndes class of 2013, a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and is married to James Ferrier.
