Aug. 8 | City Council Meets for Work Session
The Valdosta City Council will meet for a work session on Tuesday, Aug. 8, at 5:30 p.m., on the second floor of the Valdosta City Hall Council Chambers, located at 216 E. Central Avenue. The work session is open to the general public. See city calendar.

Aug. 9 | Airport Authority Meets
The Valdosta-Lowndes County Airport Authority will meet on Wednesday, Aug. 9, at 8 a.m., at the Airport Conference Room, located at 1750 Airport Road. See city calendar.

Aug. 10 | Traffic Expected for VSU Move-In Day
Motorists can anticipate traffic congestion around VSU on Thursday, Aug. 10, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., for Move-In Day, as college students move into the campus residence halls. VSU has staged patrol officers in areas around the campus where traffic may be the most congested as well as traffic message boards in the area. Please drive cautiously.

Aug. 10 | City Council Meets
The Valdosta City Council will meet on Thursday, Aug. 10, at 5:30 p.m., on the second floor of the Valdosta City Hall Council Chambers, located at 216 E. Central Avenue. This meeting will feature a special presentation of the 2017 Southern Hospitality Workcamp, the August Employee of the Month, and other city business. Aug. 11 | Home Fire Campaign
The Valdosta Fire Department, along with the United Way and American Red Cross, will host a Home Fire Campaign on Friday, Aug. 11, from 8 a.m.-11 a.m. The purpose of this event is to install free smoke detectors in homes located in a designated area of the city.
