Valdosta Main Street Director Ellen Hill was recently appointed to the Georgia Downtown Association Board of Directors to serve a two-year term from 2017-2019.

The Georgia Downtown Association is the state’s leading advocate for the economic viability of Georgia’s traditional downtowns. As a professional working to foster downtown revitalization, historic preservation, community economic development and tourism, Hill has been a member of this state organization during her decade-long tenure with the Valdosta Main Street Program.

“In her role on the Georgia Downtown Association’s Board of Directors, Ellen will be able to network with other downtown development professionals throughout Georgia,” said Assistant City Manager Mark Barber. “Her ability on the board to advocate, promote and support Georgia downtowns to foster vibrant and sustainable downtown communities will also positively impact our Valdosta Main Street program.”
