June 27 | Tourism Authority Meets
The Valdosta-Lowndes County Conference Center and Tourism Authority will meet on Tuesday, June 27, at 8 a.m., at James H. Rainwater Conference Center, Executive Conference Room 1, located at 1 Meeting Place. See city calendar.
June 29 | Southern Hospitality Workcamp Tour
The Valdosta Mayor and Council, city leadership, and event sponsors will tour the home sites of the Southern Hospitality Workcamp, beginning at 9:30 a.m., to witness the transformation of homes, lives, and neighborhoods in our city.
June 29 | Hurricane Planning for the Community
A Hurricane Planning Meeting sponsored by Lowndes County Emergency Management will be held Thursday, June 29, from 6-8 p.m., at the Rainwater Conference Center. This event is designed to educate the general public and to increase the citizens’ level of preparedness. Attendees will have access to information that will help prepare them and their families for an emergency situation. The Build a Bucket demonstration will specifically show attendees how they can create their own emergency supply kit and fit it inside a 5-gallon bucket. View event flier.
