The Berrien County Chamber of Commerce, the Nashville-Berrien Rotary Club, and event title sponsor Harveys Supermarket have partnered together to bring the Eighth Annual Cotton Blossom Roundup Rodeo back to Nashville, Georgia. Professional cowboys and cowgirls will ride into town Friday, March 24th through Saturday, March 25th at 7:30 p.m. to compete in bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, tie down calf roping, team roping, cowgirls breakaway roping, steer wrestling, cowgirls barrel racing, and bull riding.
“Harveys Supermarket has been the proud title sponsor of the Cotton Blossom Roundup from the beginning,” said Ken Wicker, Regional Vice President for Harveys Supermarket. “The Cotton Blossom Roundup is fun for the entire family and as a company that is built on family values we are proud to support this event.” The rodeo is sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association. It will feature championship livestock from the 4L & Diamond S Rodeo and specialty acts from Frankie “Punkintown” Smith from Trenton, Tennessee. Punkintown has been entertaining rodeo crowds across the country for more than 15 years. 4L & Diamond S has had several of its bucking bulls featured at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.
“The Cotton Blossom Roundup is only PRCA/WPRA rodeo held in Georgia south of Perry,” said Crissy Staley, executive director of the Berrien County Chamber of Commerce. “The Cotton Blossom Roundup features award winning livestock and professional cowboys and cowgirls and with ticket prices $10 for adults and $5 children, it’s an affordable family outing.”
The Cotton Blossom Roundup will also host special events showcasing various local talents. The Friday night performance, won by Berrien Primary School last year, will feature a principal challenge calf scramble. The winning principal will be awarded with a $250 and an ice cream party for the entire school from Harveys Supermarket. Saturday night’s performance will feature a special presentation for recent storm victims.
Friday night is also military appreciation night; discounts will be given for military personnel when military identification is presented at the gate.
Advance ticket sales will begin on March 6 at the Berrien County Chamber of Commerce office located inside the Berrien County Administration building at 201 North Davis Street. Advance tickets are $9 for adults (11 years and up), $4 children (6 to 10 years old) and children five and under will have free admission. At the gate, adult tickets will be $10 and children $5. The Cotton Blossom Roundup is held at the Berrien County Saddle Club on County Farm Road.
