Feb. 14 | Tree Planting to Honor Moody Air Force Base
Moody Air Force Base will be honored at a tree planting ceremony on Feb. 14, at 10:30 a.m., at Freedom Park, located at 3795 Guest Road.
Feb. 14 | Lunch & Learn: Right Tree, Right Place
Citizens can enjoy a Lunch & Learn featuring guest speakers Jim Wagner and Scott Dawson of Georgia Power. The event will be held on Feb. 14, from 12-1 p.m., at the Valdosta City Hall Annex, at 300 N. Lee Street. Seating is limited so please RSVP to Emily Davenport at 229-259-3530.
Feb. 14 | CVDA Board Meets
The Central Valdosta Development Authority Board will meet on Feb. 14, at 5 p.m., at City Hall Annex Multi-Purpose Room.
Feb. 15 | Free Tree Seedlings
Free tree seedlings will be available on Feb. 15 at the city’s Engineering Department, where the Arbor Division is located. Residents can pick up the free seedlings while supplies last at the Engineering Department office, on the second floor of the Valdosta City Hall Annex, at 300 N. Lee Street.

The Hospital Authority of Valdosta & Lowndes County will meet on Feb. 15, at 8 a.m., in Executive Board Room, South Georgia Medical Center, located at 2501 N. Patterson Street.

The Land Bank Authority will meet on Feb. 15, at 9 a.m., in City Hall Annex Multi-Purpose. All meetings are open to the general public.

The Valdosta- Lowndes County Parks & Recreation Authority will meet on Feb. 15, at 4:30 p.m., at their facility located at 1901 N. Forrest Street.
Feb. 15 | Goodwill on the Go Presents “Job Searching Tips & Tidbits”
The Goodwill on the Go “Job Searching Tips & Tidbits” workshop will be held on Feb. 15, at 11 a.m., in the City Hall Annex Multi-Purpose Room, located at 300 N. Lee Street. Workshops are held on the third Wednesday of each month and are free to the public. These sessions are taught by career professionals and light refreshments are provided for pre-registered participants. The Valdosta Youth Council will spend the day at the Georgia State Capitol on Feb. 16 to meet with state officials and learn more about their state government. Follow the VYC on Facebook.

Valdosta State University will host an Arbor Day Ceremony at Whitehead Camellia Trail, on Feb. 16; beginning at 10 a.m. Parking will be provided on Georgia Avenue for attendees of this ceremony.

The Public Art Committee will meet on Feb. 16, at 11:30 a.m., at the Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts, located at 527 North Patterson Street.
Feb. 17 | City of Valdosta Arbor Day Ceremony
The 2017 Arbor Week events will culminate at the Valdosta Tree Commission’s annual Arbor Day Ceremony which will honor the City of Valdosta for its 31 consecutive years of being a Tree USA community and for being one of only nine Georgia cities with this honor of 31 years.
