Smith’s Automated Commissary Services has recently located in Berrien County.  SACS is an electronic fulfillment center that serves more than fifteen jails and prisons throughout the region.  The company has been in business for more than 8 years.  SACS currently has eight employees and is located in a 3,200 square foot facility in Alapaha.

“We found the Berrien County Development Authority most helpful during our search for a new facility,” said Will Smith, president of Smith’s Automated Commissary Services.  “We had outgrown our previous facility in Douglas and the Berrien County Development Authority worked with us to present a variety of properties available to meet our needs.  We were able to quickly relocate and minimize downtime.”

“The Berrien County Development Authority proudly welcomes SACS to the community,” said Col. Nick Lacey, Chairman of the Berrien County Development Authority.  The Authority is here to assist business and industry of all sizes and sectors whether they are a startup, relocation or an existing industry considering an expansion.”

Smith’s Automated Commissary Services plans to host a formal Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Open House in the coming months.
