Ribbon Cutting at Palmetto School of Career Development
Staff Report From Valdosta CEO
Monday, October 17th, 2016
The Chamber Ambassadors held a Ribbon Cutting ceremony for Palmetto School of Career Development, recently.
Palmetto School of Career Development has been available to residents of Valdosta-Lowndes County as an alternative to the technical schools and university since 2014. Unlike bigger institutions, the school allows students to graduate in 12 weeks or less with varying technical degrees. They plan to expand this list of programs in 2017 to include legal assistant, medical billing and coding, and phlebotomy.
In addition to helping students earn degrees, Palmetto School of Career Development assists with resume building and interview skills. They also offer employment placement, which has a 95 percent success rate.
“The Chamber has been so helpful to Palmetto School of Career Development,” said Amanda Kirk, Career Advisor for Valdosta’s campus. She also says they greatly benefit from the “informative emails” and how it is “so easy to join the events.”
