Horace Mann, the largest national multiline insurance company focusing on educators' financial needs, recently recognized Joe Belson’s agency in South Georgia, Financial Solutions for Educators, LLC,  as its National Agency of the Month in June.

Joe started working for Horace Mann in 2013, eventually purchasing his agency from Bubba and Paige Southall in June 2015. Joe’s agency has seen rapid success growing from one employee to six employees in its first year.  Joe attributes much of his success to giving back in the form of free workshops at schools on topics like Teacher’s Retirement System, DonorsChoose.org and Student Loan Forgiveness programs.  “When educators realize that we are there to help them plan for and understand their unique retirement system, they are very receptive.  But when we can help put them on a path to get their student loans forgiven, you see people begin to feel relief and find a sense of hope and excitement,” said Joe. Financial Solutions for Educators, LLC serves educators in Lowndes, Brooks, Tift, Turner, Berrien, Lanier, Echols, Cook, Thomas and Colquitt counties.

After graduating from Mercer University in 2001 with his BBA in Finance, Joe moved home to begin his career in the Financial Services industry.  He received his insurance license in 2005 and his investment license in 2007.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Leadership Lowndes and the Wiregrass Georgia Technical College Foundation.  Joe lives in Valdosta with his wife Ashley and their two children, Adam and Elizabeth.
