July 19 | Valdosta-Lowndes County Community Job Fair
Citizens looking for employment are encouraged to attend the Community Job Fair, on Tuesday, July 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Over 200 people are expected at this event, which will be held in the Valdosta City Hall Annex Multi-Purpose Room. Call 229-316-1216 for details.
July 19 | Mayor’s Council for Persons with Disabilities Meets
The Valdosta Mayor’s Council for Persons with Disabilities will meet on Tuesday, July 19, at 1 p.m., at the LARC facility. The meeting is open to individuals who have an interest in making Valdosta a “City Without Limits” for community members with disabilities. For more information, call 229-245-2498.
July 19-23 | Main Street Hosts Restaurant Week
Citizens can add flavor and fun to their summer by participating in Restaurant Week 2016, which runs July 19-23. With a $20 wristband, citizens may enjoy a pour of a signature drink and a taste of a meal from each restaurant’s fixed price menu for the week. Live music will also fill the square as citizens explore the downtown culinary scene. Citizens are also encouraged to return daily throughout the week to discover the delicious lunch and dinner options that the downtown restaurants have to offer. July 20 | City Partnership Hosts Career Development Workshop
“Making the Best of Your Employment Situation,” sponsored by the City of Valdosta’s Neighborhood Development Division and Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers, Inc., will take place on Wednesday in the Valdosta City Hall Annex Multi-Purpose Room, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This partnership expands community access to job training and connections services through a series of workshops and the new Job Connections Kiosk in the city’s Customer Service Center—making valuable job training more accessible to citizens who seek them.
