The Chamber of Commerce has begun Phase II of the Valdosta- Lowndes County Business Incubator Study.
A business incubator is a "brick and mortar" location that has the potential to aid startup companies in their endeavors by providing shared technology and services to its tenants. Incubators also have the space to house anchor tenants that will provide service to those startups and other tenants within the incubator.
A Readiness Assesment was completed earlier this year by Georgia Tech. They concluded that a business incubator would be feasible in our community and the next step would be a financial feasibility study.
Greenwood Consulting Group, Inc. based out of Sanibel, Florida, has been contracted by the Chamber to complete Phase II. This part of the study will include surveying area entrepreneurs and small business owners to evaluate the degree of interest in our community.
If you are a small business owner or entrepreneur, we need your help! We need to know if there are sufficient numbers of such entrepreneurs who are willing to become part of the incubator. A survey has been set up by Greenwood Consulting Group, Inc. and can be found on the Chamber website, www.valdostachamber.com , please take a few minutes and submit your responses online.
