The Chamber Ambassadors recently held a Ribbon Cutting ceremony for Greater Valdosta United Way.
Greater Valdosta United Way is a charitable organization that is focused on improving the lives of the Valdosta community by mobilizing the caring power of the community. “We mobilize volunteers and convene partner agencies, corporations and policy makers to make systematic changes,” said Erin Blanton.
Last year, they raised almost one million dollars to be shared with 16 participating agencies, through 44 different community programs. “We connect services in the community with people who need it the most,” said Blanton.
Greater Valdosta United Way has been a member of the Chamber since 1977. The Chamber has “connected us with other community members and leaders, while also helping us to celebrate being able to serve our community, from the heart of our community,” said Blanton.
