Valdosta State University Opera will present Opera After Dark at Covington’s in Downtown Valdosta at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 21. Tickets are $50 for adults and $40 for students.
 
Guests will enjoy Italian-themed heavy hors d’oeuvres prepared by Covington’s Dining and Catering and performances of love-and-romance-themed vocal music by VSU Opera students and community students from Valwood School.
 
The VSU Department of Music’s Dr. Karl Paoletti, an assistant professor of voice, and Dr. Tamara Hardesty, Voice Area chairwoman, will serve as music and stage directors. Sue Ellen Rumstay will serve as accompanist.
 
Tickets may be purchased by calling the VSU College of the Arts Outreach office at (229) 333-2150. Paoletti noted that $20 of each adult ticket sold and $10 of each student ticket sold will benefit VSU Opera.
 
Seating is limited. The deadline to purchase tickets is 5 p.m. on Monday, April 18.
