Second Annual SELFIE Conference in Partnership with Maceo Horne Learning Center

The Valdosta Lowndes Metropolitan Chapter of the National Council of Negro Women in partnership with the Maceo Horne Learning Center is hosting the second annual S.E.L.F.I. E. conference.  This conference is  for young women ages 16-25 and is scheduled on  Saturday April 16th from 8:30am-2:30 pm and includes a free hot lunch.  The interactive presentations will include such topics as money management, resumes, interviewing skills,  social media tips for employment,  and navigating your credit.  Individuals, mentoring groups, youth groups and church groups are welcome.  The Entreprenueral Committee within NCNW is targeting young ladies in the stated age range from all backgrounds and experiences.  This conference is to encourage, empower and mentor young ladies as they prepare for the next step in their lives into adulthood.  Last year the conference served over 200. Attorney Karla Walker is currently the Chair of the Committee along with her Co-Chair, City Council Woman, Vivian Cody.  The conference is free and there will be door prizes.
