VSU Presents Haunted Trail: Everything You've Ever Feared Oct. 28th-31st

Staff Report From Valdosta CEO

Friday, October 23rd, 2015

Valdosta State University Campus Recreation will present Haunted Trail 2015: Everything You’ve Ever Feared from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Oct. 28-31 at the Center for Outdoor Recreational Experiences Challenge Course. Due to the intense nature of this experience, only teenagers and adults 13 years of age and older will be allowed to participate.

“The haunted trail is considered one of the scariest events in the Valdosta area,” said Katie Rickard, team leader with Campus Recreation.

Admission is $5 per person, with just a few exceptions. Groups of five people entering the trail together on Wednesday, Oct. 28, will be admitted for $20, or $4 per person. High school students with a valid school identification card will receive a $2 discount on Thursday, Oct. 29. The same is true for college students on Friday, Oct. 30, and everyone who wears a costume to the event on Saturday, Oct. 31.

Proceeds will help Campus Recreation students represent VSU at regional and national conferences and support future events offered through the Student Recreation Center, said Greg Knaus, special events and student development graduate assistant with Campus Recreation.

The Haunted Trail 2015: Everything You’ve Ever Feared experience will last about 20 minutes.

“It is very rare that you find a haunted trail — most are haunted houses — with the resources — zip lines, climbing walls, etc. — that we possess,” Rickard said. “This event is not something you see commonly at other universities, making this a staple at VSU that I believe gets everyone excited each year.”

From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, VSU Campus Recreation will offer a special “Spooky” Trick-or-Treat Trail featuring games and candy for families with kids of all ages. This event is free of charge, although donations will be accepted.

Haunted Trail 2015: Everything You’ve Ever Feared and “Spooky” Trick-Or-Treat Trail will be staffed by VSU student volunteers.

VSU’s Center for Outdoor Recreational Experiences Challenge Course is located at 1300 Sustella Ave.
