Payment Processing of America (PPA), located in Valdosta at 100 N. Patterson Street, is now a preferred vendor with CheckAlt, a leading check processing company.

According to Paul Sapp, managing partner with PPA, the company opened its Valdosta office in 2013 and is focused on Internet credit card processing and primarily solicits large banking institutions and lock box companies.

Sapp said there are plans to expand the Valdosta office and begin hiring additional staff in early 2016.

“We fully expect to start hiring the first of the year and more the next year,” said Sapp. “Within the next few years we may have five to 10 employees in our Valdosta group.”

Sapp said the location in Valdosta was selected for its strong workforce and proximity to Florida.

“There are certain requirements that change from state to state,” said Sapp. “Georgia makes operating a business like ours easier than other states.”

PPA is also negotiating with FIS, a leading global provider dedicated to banking and payment technologies, to become a preferred vendor. 

According to Sapp, PPA had a partnership with Financial Services Inc., which was recently sold to FIS.
