The Office of Career Opportunities at Valdosta State University will present The Case, a social services career fair, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, in the University Center Magnolia Room.

Current students and alumni planning to attend should dress professionally, arrive early, and bring several copies of their resume. The first 25 attendees will receive a 4 GB wristband USB drive.

The Case features such employers as Behavioral Health Services of South Georgia, The Haven, Options Now, the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, City Year, the Lowndes Drug Action Council Inc., the Georgia Department of Human Services, and more offering everything from full-time employment to internships.

“This fall we are having ‘niche’ job fairs to target the majors that employers are seeking,” said DeLois Hargett, employer relations coordinator with Career Opportunities.

Upcoming events include Graduate and Professional Schools Fair on Thursday, Nov. 5, and Education Career Day on Thursday, Nov. 19. Each career fair will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the University Center Magnolia Room.

“All of the fairs are a great opportunity for students and alumni to establish and/or maintain relationships with employers,” Hargett said. “We wish to do an exemplary job for both students and alumni and simply want to help both ignite their journey with Career Opportunities.”
