For the ninth time in the past 10 years, Thomas University has a record fall enrollment. The final enrollment for fall semester 2015 is 1,179. That’s a 3.6 increase in total enrollment over fall semester 2014. For comparison, TU had a total of 685 students in the fall of 2006.

“This record enrollment is the direct result of the efforts of our faculty and staff, who work so diligently on behalf of our students,” said Dr. Gary Bonvillian, TU president. “Thomas University’s reputation continues to grow as a school of first choice for students of both traditional and non-traditional age. This is particularly gratifying in light of the continuing decline in enrollment of so many schools across the United States.”

The fall 2015 total enrollment of 1,179 also includes 448 new students, which is a 9.5 percent increase in new student enrollment over fall 2014.

“We have a diverse yet strategic portfolio of program offerings for which we recruit in a very focused manner,” said Dr. Jill Dennis, Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing. “Many of our graduates are leaders in their respective fields due to rigorous studies that require creativity, discipline and personal responsibility. They become our greatest marketing tools. All aspects of the university are very mission-focused, which makes us stronger.”

The program with the largest enrollment at Thomas University is the Master of Education program, which includes majors in Early Childhood Education, Middle Grades Education, Secondary Grades Education, Curriculum and Instruction, and Teacher Leadership. In addition to the TU Main Campus, the program is also taught at five satellite locations throughout Georgia.

Second highest in terms of enrollment is TU’s Master of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling. Next is the Division of Criminal Justice’s Associate of Science in Law Enforcement and Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice degrees.

In addition to the 1,179 domestic students, TU anticipates more than 1,000 students in China this fall participating in its programs through partnerships with four universities in that country. Three of the programs are in Nursing, and one is in Business.
