SGMC Names a System Director of Medical Staff Services

Etta Stewart has been named the System Director of Medical Staff Services at South Georgia Medical Center.  In this role, Stewart will provide administrative direction, leadership and direct supervision of all Medical Staff Services personnel.  She will develop and implement programs, operations, budgets that collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer of SGMC.  Stewart will serve as a liaison on behalf of SGMC with the medical staff in regard to medical staff services.  She will also facilitate all aspects of departmental organization and credentialing for medical staff and allied health professional staff members.
 
Stewart joined SGMC in 2002 as PBX Supervisor and was promoted within a year to serve as Communications Manager. In early 2004, her position was upgraded to director over Communications and Telecommunications.  She led the organization through several minor and two major telephone switch upgrades. The last upgrade in 2013 incorporated all SGMC office and campus’ (not including Lanier) under one network and provided 4-digit dialing throughout the organization.
 
She received a Bachelor of Science in Business with a concentration in Project Management in 2012 from the University of Phoenix.  During her free time, Stewart likes to design and make clothes, read and visit her son in Texas.
