Employer Seminar on Affordable Care Act to be Held in Valdosta Sept. 30th

The South Georgia Employer Committee, the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Valdosta Area Society for Human Resource Management will co-sponsor a seminar on the Affordable Care Act and other federal laws Wednesday, Sept. 30, in Valdosta.
The seminar will be held from 9-11:30 a.m. at the Georgia Department of Labor’s Valdosta Career Center located at 221 South Ashley St. A continental breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m.
Stacy C. Clark and Meredith Gage, attorneys with law firm Alston & Bird of Atlanta, will conduct the seminar. It will focus on the ACA’s recent regulations on employer wellness programs, as well as the excise tax on “Cadillac” plans, and the recent wave of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act security breaches and how employers can better prepare for them.
The seminar is designed for business owners, managers, human resource professionals, and others looking for guidance on health care reform.
The fee for the seminar is $25 for those who register by Friday, Sept. 25, and $30 for those who register at the door.
