Dr. Cecil P. Staton, who was appointed interim president of Valdosta State University on July 1, welcomed two very special guests to the Fall 2015 Convocation Monday — Dr. Ronald M. Zaccari, who served as president of VSU from 2002 to 2008, and Dr. Louis H. Levy, who served the university over a 20-plus-year period as professor, department head, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, interim president, and more. Both men were among a standing room only crowd that gathered in Whitehead Auditorium to help Staton officially kick off the 2015-2016 academic year. During his speech, Staton discussed “the wonderful assets of VSU, the challenges we face, and our efforts directed at increasing retention, such as student satisfaction.” He also gave an update on the latest marketing and branding efforts.
