July 14: Mayor's Council for Persons with Disabilities Meets. The Valdosta Mayor's Council for Persons with Disabilities will meet on Tuesday, July 14, at 1 p.m., at the Department of Labor (conference room), located at 221 South Ashley Street. The meeting is open to individuals who have an interest in making Valdosta a "City Without Limits" for community members with disabilities. For more information, call (229) 245-2498.
July 14: CVDA Board Meets. The Central Valdosta Development Authority (CVDA) will meet Tuesday, at 5 p.m., in the Valdosta City Hall Annex Multi-Purpose Room. The CVDA manages the process of enhancing downtown's position as the governmental, cultural, and economic center of the Greater Lowndes County area by involving businesses, property owners, government, churches and the entire community. July 15:People's Choice Voting Continues. Wednesday, July 15, is the deadline to participate in the People's Choice Voting for the 7thAnnual Valdosta People's Choice Photo Contest at the Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts. Vote for your favorite photos in five categories, while appreciating the other fine art on display at the center. Mayor John Gayle will announces the contest winners at a reception on Monday, July 20, from 5-7 p.m., at the Center. For information, call (229) 259-3548 or (229) 247-2787.
July 15: 2040 Transportation Vision Plan Public Meeting. Citizens are encouraged to attend one of several public meetings to provide input for the 2040 Transportation Vision Plan, which addresses the future transportation needs of our community. A public meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 15, from 4-7 p.m., at the South Georgia Regional Library, located at 300 Woodrow Wilson Drive. July 18: Farm Days This Saturday. The Downtown Valdosta Farm Days continues on Saturday. The popular farmers market takes place on the sidewalks around the historic Lowndes County Courthouse, in downtown Valdosta, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., on the first and third Saturday of every month through September 19.
