Tim Golden Elected to the State Transportation Board

The Georgia Department of Transportation’s State Transportation Board announced today the election of Tim Golden of Valdosta. In a unanimous decision, he was elected to fill the seat of beloved Board member Jay Shaw, who passed away just as he began his second term earlier this year.
He will represent the 24 counties included in the 8th Congressional District.
Golden, a distinguished member of his community, with a combined 24 years in the legislature, was elected by his colleagues to the STB for a five-year term. He has enacted an extensive list of educational, employment, healthcare and small business reform initiatives for the people of Brooks, Clinch, Cook, Echols, Lanier, Lowndes and Thomas Counties.
He currently serves as Chairman of the Senate Insurance & Labor Committee and is Vice-Chair of the Senate Finance Committee. He also serves on the Senate Higher Education Committee and the OneGeorgia Overview Committee.
Mr. Golden and his wife Ellen, a State Court Judge for Lowndes County, have one son.
