Collaborative Health Fair Scheduled for August 1st

The Georgia Department of Public Health, Union Cathedral Church, New Destiny Church and the Valdosta-Lowndes Section of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. (NCNW) are hosting a Community Health and Wellness Family and Youth Day.  On Saturday, August 1st from 9:30 am to 2pm the community has an opportunity to receive free school supplies, free food and free health screenings.  Along with the free school supplies and screenings there will be children’s activities, a bounce house and health presentations.  

This event is free to the entire community and will be hosted at Union Cathedral Church located at 1050 E. Hill Avenue in Valdosta. The purpose of this collaboration is to promote healthy lifestyles in children and families.  Health screenings and presentations will be held by trained and professional staff from South Health District and other local health organizations. Anyone can attend this event and enjoy free activities and food.  School supplies will be given out during the event and are on a first come, first serve basis.
