The Chamber releases the summer edition of Progress magazine.
The Chamber announces the release of the summer edition of Progress magazine, a publication produced semiannually that showcases the Valdosta business community. This edition focuses on building business with family and features several third generation businesses in Valdosta as well as ASTRO Exterminating Services on the front cover.
ASTRO Exterminating Services was established as a family business in 1969. Since then, the business has expanded to eleven locations in South Georgia and South Carolina, but hasn’t lost sight of its roots.
“Even though we’ve evolved into a larger company, we still run on the basic principles that my dad, Lamar Culbreth, built,” said ASTRO’s Laura Perlman. From monthly employee cookouts to support of local organizations like the Boys & Girls Club, Culbreth’s vision is still being practiced today.
Printed copies of Progress magazine are distributed to more than 2,500 Chamber contacts. Copies are also available at various businesses around town – from doctor and lawyer offices to health care facilities and banks.
“We really wanted to focus on telling the stories of our members in this edition,” said Chamber president, Myrna Ballard. “Additionally, the editorial covers topics from hiring military spouses to showcasing the work that the Chamber does to advocate, build, connect and promote our members and our community.”
