Uplifting Sistas, Inc. will host a three-day camp for girls from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, July 10, to Sunday, July 12, at Goodwill Career Center.

The camp is open to girls ages 12-17 in Lowndes County and surrounding areas. The summer enrichment program will focus on team building, female empowerment, establishing educational and professional goals, self-awareness, and leading healthy lifestyles. The camp will also include activities that encourage the use of critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Regular registration is $25 until the first day of camp. Registration on the first day of camp is $30.

Uplifting Sistas is the concerted effort of five young black women interested in creating a platform that recognizes, celebrates and empowers females. The women established a blog, www.upliftingsistas.com, in early 2014 and later incorporated as a nonprofit organization.
