Staff Report From Valdosta CEO

Wednesday, June 24th, 2015

For many years, AT&T has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to workforce development at Wiregrass Georgia Technical College.    That commitment continued with a donation of $3,000 to the Wiregrass Foundation South as presented by Courtney Brinson, Regional Director of External Affairs at AT&T, on June 22, 2015.

Brinson said, “We are pleased to support Wiregrass Georgia Technical College’s scholarship and student retention programs.  These programs are critical for the students.  We want to do everything that we can to help them succeed.  When business and industry stand behind the education of students, it sends a very powerful message.  We are proud to be helping to send that message.” This is the second donation by AT&T in about six months.  In November 2014, Brinson also presented a check for $3000 to the Foundation.

Donations from AT&T make it clear that the company holds Wiregrass and its workforce development efforts in high regard.  The foundation trustees, college staff, faculty, and students are greatly appreciative of their ongoing support.  By investing in workforce development, AT&T is investing in economic development for our community.
