Ricky Dollar was a very well-known and well-liked member of the Lowndes County Community and his generosity to Wiregrass Foundation South has been recognized with the newly established Ricky Dollar Memorial Scholarship.

Ricky operated several Wendy’s Restaurants and the Atlanta Bread Company and from them, he generously donated lunch for up to 200 people every year for eight years at the Gathering of Eagles symposium.  Gathering of Eagles is a business growth and leadership symposium featuring both nationally known speakers and local business leaders.  The event serves as a fundraiser for the foundation and Ricky’s gift of lunch was always greatly appreciated.  Not only did Ricky provide lunch for the participants, but he also encouraged his employees to attend the event.  After his recent passing, Gerry Russo continued the tradition of supporting the Gathering of Eagles.

Because of Ricky’s leadership, generosity, and support, the Wiregrass Foundation South established a scholarship in his honor.  The scholarship is available for summer semester with an application deadline of May 25, 2015.  For more information, please contact the Wiregrass Foundation South at 229-293-6190.
