Roof Repairs Approved for Rainwater Conference Center

The Valdosta-Lowndes Tourism Authority voted Tuesday to spend nearly $230,000 to make major roof repairs to the James H. Rainwater Conference Center in Valdosta.
The tourism authority discussed the repairs at their meeting this morning, saying that the repairs were much needed as the roof was almost 20 years old. Lowndes Roofing won the contract with the low bid of $226,780. The other bid considered at the meeting was from Hall Contractors for $264,800.
