Wednesday, April 1st, 2015
Valdosta State University’s Office of Career Opportunities will host its second annual STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and Health Care Online Career Fair April 1-7.
A free service, the STEM and Health Care Online Career Fair is an opportunity for area employers or recruiters to market current or upcoming part-time, full-time, internship, or cooperative education openings in the science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and health care fields to VSU students and alumni.
The STEM and Health Care Online Career Fair is also an opportunity for students and alumni pursuing or holding bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degrees in applied mathematics, astronomy, athletic training, biology, chemistry, clinical-counseling psychology, communication disorders, computer information systems, computer science, dental hygiene, environmental geosciences, exercise physiology, health care administration, marriage and family therapy, mathematics, nursing, physics, psychology, social work, and sociology to upload a resume and share their skills, interests, and talents with potential area employers or recruiters.
“Some employers may choose not to post positions, but they will still be able to search resumes if they register,” said Kevin Taylor, associate director of the Office of Career Opportunities.
Interested employers or recruiters are invited to register for the event between now and April 7.
Students and alumni are encouraged to visit the online career fair several times throughout the week as the list of participating employers or recruiters could potentially grow with each passing day.
VSU’s Office of Career Opportunities strives to provide career development and awareness, experiential learning/cooperative education, and professional employment opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students and alumni. Its staff collaborates with the university’s employer and community partners to develop the employment potential of students and graduates and to utilize their innovative, intellectual talents.
