On April 18^th women throughout Valdosta attended the Business and Beauty: Learn, Lead and Leave a Legacy in the Workplace Women’s Leadership Tour Kickoff.  The event was hosted by Valdosta native, MTV Made Coach and Former Ms. Georgia United States, Lakisha Brooks, MS and Brooks Enterprise and Consultants.  2014 Leadership Lowndes Alum and Valdosta Metro One 40 under 40 Finalist Malynda Dorsey served as the emcee. Speakers included 2012 Valdosta Woman of the Year, 2013 Metro One Valdosta 4 Under 40 and 2013 Georgia Trend Magazines 40 Under 40 Recipient Sharah Denton, Atlanta business owner, Aisha Martin and Mrs. Corporate America 2015, F. Dennelle Hickson.  

The mission of the tour is to prepare front-line, emerging female managers and business owners to become sustainable leaders who contribute directly to the environmental, social and economics of any organization or business. The tour will continue on in Charlotte, Chicago, DC and Atlanta, GA throughout the spring and early summer.  Topics presented during the Valdosta tour included equal pay, work-life balance, how to lead in the workplace and business and other important topics.  Those in attendance received a surprised skype in presentation from LaKisha Brooks who was Zurich, Switzerland.
