Jan. 21: Land Bank Authority Meets. Members of the Valdosta-Lowndes County Land Bank Authority will hold their first meeting of the year on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 9 a.m., in the City Hall Annex Multi-Purpose Room. The Land Bank Authority exists to foster the public purpose of returning property which is in a non-revenue generating, non-tax producing status to effective utilization status in order to provide housing, new industry and jobs for citizens. Jan. 23: Last Day to Purchase Bird Supper Tickets.  Tickets are on sale through Friday for the 2015 Bird Supper, scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, at the Georgia Railroad Depot, in Atlanta, beginning at 5 p.m.Tickets for the annual event, co-sponsored by the City of Valdosta and the Lowndes County Board of Commissioners, may be purchased for $50 each.
