Wiregrass Georgia Technical College Foundation South trustees and staff are always happy to help students progress toward their educational and career goals and awarded named scholarships to twelve students during the fall semester.  Scholarships provided by donors throughout the community mean so much to students by both recognizing their academic accomplishments and providing extra financial assistance to help them complete their education.

Students who were awarded scholarships during the fall semester include:  Jacquelyn Allen, Adel-Cook County Chamber Scholarship; Allison Cooper, Mary Catherine Coffey Memorial Scholarship; Joseph Fiffie, Kevin DeMarcus Acree Scholarship; Sarah Ganas, Ben Copeland Scholarship; William Gatewood, Kiwanis Club of Adel Scholarship; Amanda Nicole Gonzalez, Mary Catherine Coffey Memorial Scholarship; Caleb Graham, Valdosta High School Alumni Scholarship; Carlos Melendez, CJB Industries Scholarship; Bobbie Pajerowski, Benjamin James Herron Memorial Scholarship; Hannah Price, Carolyn Zeigler Scholarship; Savannah Sullivan, David Apperson Memorial Scholarship; and Christopher Williams, Valdosta High School Alumni Scholarship.   In addition, unnamed scholarships from donations to the general fund are awarded each semester based on a student’s financial need and academic progress.

The Foundation appreciates the support of donors who see the value of providing student scholarships and funds for programs of the College. Dr. Penelope Schmidt, Executive Director for Wiregrass Foundation South, stated, “Donations make such a difference in the lives of students while also creating opportunities for our area businesses and industries to grow with a more skilled workforce.”
