Tankersley Named Commercial Banking Company Tifton Market President

Morris G. Tankersley was named Tifton Market President in an announcement by Commercial Banking Company President and Chief Executive Officer Daryn Russell.

“We look forward to having Morris on the CBCBank team in Tifton,” said Russell. “His market experience and community leadership compliments our desire to be a lending institution that the Tifton residents can be proud of.”

Tankersley formerly worked as a Commercial Lender for Southeastern Federal Credit Union and Assistant Vice President-Branch Manager of South Georgia Banking Company. He has over 15 years of experience in banking.

A graduate of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and Georgia Southwestern State University, Tankersley is an Ocilla native. He has also attended the Georgia School of Banking at the University of Georgia and graduated with honors from the Southeastern School of Consumer Lending at Vanderbilt University.

Tankersley is a member of the Tifton-Tift County Chamber of Commerce where he serves as the Finance Director and a member of the Executive Board of Directors. He is also the past president of the Rotarty Club of Tift County and is a Deacon at First Baptist Church in addition to serving on the Finance Committee and Benevolence Committee.

“I am excited about the opportunity and look forward to working with the CBC customers in Tifton,” said Tankersley.

Dain Smith served as a strong Tifton Market President during an interim period since 2013 and has been with CBC since April 2006. He will return to Valdosta to serve at the Baytree branch as a Vice President and Commercial Lender.

Commercial Banking Company was chartered in 1929 as a state bank in Hahira, Georgia. The Bank quickly earned a reputation as a solid financial institution in the Hahira community. In 1990 the main branch on North Valdosta Road was built. The bank has three additional locations including Moultrie, Tifton and the Baytree branch in Valdosta.
