The South Georgia Young Republicans will be hosting Rep. Austin Scott (Ga-08) on Aug. 12^th at the Valdosta Country Club. Congressman Scott will be the featured speaker at SGYR’s Super Tuesday monthly meeting, held every 2^nd Tuesday of the month. Congressman Scott is in his second-term as the U.S. Representative for Georgia's Eighth Congressional District, and serves as Chairman of the House Agriculture Committee's Subcommittee on Horticulture, Research, Biotechnology, and Foreign Agriculture. Additionally, he continues his post on the House Armed Services Committee where he serves on the Oversight and Investigation, Military Personal and Readiness Subcommittees. Congressman Scott will be speaking on many of the important issues facing the Valdosta area including the future of Moody Air Force Base, and the economic initiatives he and his colleagues are working on to expand opportunity in South Georgia. The meeting will be held Tuesday, Aug. 12^th, from 7-8pm, and is open to the public.
