The Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber of Commerce congratulates CR\T, Chemical Research and Technology, Leading Business of the Week!

CR\T is a division of Quad Graphics, a company which works to redefine the printing process by reducing waste and eliminating the overuse of natural resources, offering a fresh focus on environmental responsibility to the industry. CR\T is Quad Graphics’ ink production subsidiary and has specialized in formulating and manufacturing EnviroTech inks since 1982. The company uses vegetable oils, pine resin and other renewable resources to create inks that significantly improve quality, consistency and customer satisfaction while also providing more control over cost and supply.

The Valdosta division of CR\T comes from humble beginnings according to the plant manager Ramesh Mulani. “CR\T was originally a resin plant that was destined to be closed,” said Mulani. “It was purchased by CR\T and has resumed production to supply our own requirements.” Mulani also stated that a renovation of their EnviroTech ink production process is also underway.

CR\T differs from other ink production businesses in its determination to withstand internet competitors as well as electronic devices. “Members of the printing industry do not only have to compete with other businesses of the same type; we must deal with internet giants as well,” said Mulani. “A successful vertical integration is key to staying competitive in such a tough business environment.”

Mulani also stated that CR\T’s membership with the Chamber has allowed the business to reach out to the surrounding area. “The Chamber’s recognition and introduction of CR\T to the business community of Lowndes County has enabled CR\T to stay in contact with Chamber members as well as other businesses and government officials,” said Mulani.
