Continuing Education Presents Six-Week Class on the Creative Process
Friday, May 30th, 2014
Valdosta State University Continuing Education will present Rituals of Creativity June 23 through Aug. 4. The six-week, instructor-facilitated online class is designed to teach adults to welcome creativity into their everyday lives.
“This class is an exploration of the creative process and how to get beyond the fear that many of us have that we are not creative,” said Sue Bailey, program coordinator for VSU Continuing Education. “You can learn to bring your own unique creative spirit to all areas of your personal and professional life — and you don’t have to be an artist to be creative or to take this class.
Arizona-based Vicki Gaia and California-based Roberta Veatch, working artists who enjoy sharing their talents with others, will help Rituals of Creativity students from all around the world recognize and express their creative talents, as well as explore any fears they may have about creativity. Students will learn how to use inspiration tags as a springboard for jumping into the creative process and how to use ritual to open up a place and a space for letting their creativity flow.
“We have a lot of fun,” said Veatch.
“Creativity comes in all forms,” shared Gaia.
“There is no right or wrong way when creating,” she continued, “and we really want to emphasize that.”
