Georgia Secretary of State Kemp Visits Valdosta Chamber

Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp visited the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce Tuesday, October 22 to meet with local leaders.

Secretary Kemp met with Mayor John Gayle, Jan Bryce, Phil Allen, Stacy Bush, Kevin McCraney, and Michael Lee along with Chamber staff. The group discussed economic development in the Valdosta-Lowndes area, including the expansion of the Valdosta State University campus near South Georgia Medical Center and the new Health Sciences & Business Administration complex under construction.

“We always appreciate the opportunity to share our community’s efforts and needs with our elected officials,” said Myrna Ballard of the Chamber. “It is quite clear that Secretary Kemp has a sincere interest in the well-being of Georgia’s business community.”

Also highlighted during the meeting was the opening of the Gornto Road extension and its expected impact to Valdosta’s business.
