GDOL & Moody AFB to Co-Sponsor Veterans Career Expo in Valdosta

The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) and the Moody Airmen and Family Readiness Center will co-sponsor a career expo for veterans and other job seekers Wednesday, Oct. 23, in Valdosta. The expo will be held from 1-4 p.m. in the Moody Field Club, 4251 George St. at Moody Air Force Base (AFB).

The expo is open to veterans and their family members, active duty personnel, military retirees, National Guard and U.S. reserve units, and others who have access to the air base. It will feature a number of employers, educational institutions, and resource agencies that provide assistance to job seekers. The employers will be hiring or discussing current and future employment opportunities, while other organizations will provide educational and other resources. Applicants must bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings. Attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately to improve their opportunities for employment.

Those expected to participate in the expo include: Army Air Force Exchange, Berrien Nursing and Rehabilitation, Convergys, DeKalb County Sheriff, Department of Corrections-Valdosta State Prison, Department of Justice-Federal Bureau of Prisons, Department of Juvenile Justice, Drury Inn and Suites, DuPont, Express Employment Professionals, Georgia Department of Community Affairs, Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Services, Georgia Power Company, Go Small Biz/Legal Shield, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Lowndes County 911, Mediacom, New Hire Solutions, Papa John’s Pizza, Reinhart, SAFT Batteries, SAM’s, Team Temps, TIMCO, UPS, U.S. Navy Reserves, Valdosta Toyota, Veterans Administration (VA) Health Administration/Vet Center, Well Care of Georgia, Wild Adventures and Wulff Enterprises.
