The Valdosta division of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) will host a candidates' forum Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. in Valdosta State University's Continuing Education auditorium located at 903 N. Patterson St.

AAUW is a national organization of university-educated members who strive to promote full equity for women and girls through research, education and advocacy.

The upcoming municipal elections candidates will give presentations at the forum. Audience members will have the opportunity to ask moderated questions. This year's moderator will be Dr. Luke Fowler from the VSU Political Science Department.

Dr. Jo Ann Hartman, educator, formal political figure and AAUW member initiated the beginning of the political forums.

"By tradition, the forums are dedicated to the memory of Virginia Branan who worked with Hartman and AAUW to make the forums a successful and valued part of AAUW's service to the south Georgia region," said Deborah Van Petten who is coordinating this year's forum.
