Aflac, the number one provider of supplemental insurance in the United States, announced today that the company has once again been listed as one of LATINA Style magazine's 50 Best Companies for Latinas. It is the 14th time that Aflac has won inclusion on this exclusive list.

"We take a great deal of pride in the diversity of our workforce and our 70,000 independent sales agents at Aflac," Aflac Chairman and CEO Dan Amos said. "It is gratifying that organizations like LATINA Style recognize our commitment to diversity not only as a smart business decision but also because it is the right thing to do."

"Every year, since 1998, we have produced the LATINA Style 50 Special Report listing the best companies for Latina professionals to work. It is our job to assist them in identifying the companies that will provide them with the best opportunities to succeed," says Robert E. Bard, President and CEO of LATINA Style, Inc. "This year, we welcome back Aflac for the 14th time. We congratulate them for their efforts and commitment to make Latina talent a priority."

Companies responding to LATINA Style's questionnaire are evaluated based on issues that LATINAStyle readers identified as most important to them in the workplace. Among the principal areas of evaluation are: number of Latina executives, Latina retention, mentoring programs, educational opportunities, alternative work policies, employee benefits, women's issues, job retraining, affinity groups, and Hispanic relations. This year there was special interest in opportunities available for military veterans and students, as well as the health benefits for employees. Evaluations for the 2013 annual report were based on 2012 data.
