U.S. Air Force Senior Master Sgt. Gina Thursby, Senior Airman Jason D. Cunningham Airmen Leadership School commandant, receives applause from her ALS students after finding out she made the rank of chief master sergeant Nov. 8, 2012, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. Col. Billy Thompson, 23d Wing commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Frank Batten, 23d WG command chief, broke the news to her along with other base group commanders and chiefs.
